125 Years Serving the
South Perth Community
On the 22nd August, 1900, South Perth Baptist Church had its inaugural meeting with 30 people being welcomed into membership under the leadership of Rev. F.H. Radford who was ordained at Flinders Street Baptist Church, Adelaide in 1896. The first church building was completed in 1901 at what is now 258 Mill Point Rd. (see photo) Unfortunately, the original building burned down in 1961 due to an electrical fault. In 1964, because of the limitations of the original site, the church relocated across Mill Point Road to 2 Lawler St, which is where we are currently located.
In commemoration of the milestone of 125 years of life and service to the community, Mosaic South Perth Baptist Church is holding a special gathering at 10am on the 17th August, 2025. We're having the Praise Project lead us in worship, Victor Owuor speaking, free coffees, a sausage sizzle and a display of some of the history of the last 125 years.
We know that many people have been impacted and played a part in the ministries of South Perth Baptist over the years and all are welcome to come back, reminisce and meet old friends. If you're planning to come, please register your interest so we can plan accordingly.
